Coaching is about unlocking the coachee’s potential to maximize their own performance. Coach’s own belief of the enormity of human potential plays a pivotal role in coachee attaining this awareness.

 

 

 

Coaching uses constructive language, targeted restatements, powerful  questions, representational systems, paraphrasing, summarising and an assortment of skills to ingress into the mind to uncap beliefs, conflicts and potential. 

Once the layers are peeled off the past, heightened attention is drawn to the present, the coach instills a sense of self belief in the coachee, stimulates coachee to discover their drive and induces reflective thinking towards generating options and requisite actions.

 

Coaching works with people who may not have manifested ambitious goal-seeking, decision-making, action- oriented traits yet, however, with appropriate handholding, could bring about this incredible metamorphosis in themselves.

HOW DOES COACHING ACHIEVE THIS?

Human beings have an innate learning capability. It flourishes remarkably in an environment where there

is a collaborative alliance and trust with any intervener. The coach engenders this alliance, remains non-judgmental, empathetic, respectful, doesn’t proffer advice and relates to coachee’s innermost core. The coach further dredges up the unsettling thoughts & limiting beliefs, raises awareness, manages and reframes the paradoxes the coachee confronts and stimulates the coachee to uncover possibilities/options and eventuate action.

In contrast, a prescriptive style stifles learning as it deprives self-generated options and responsibility for actions that must emerge from the coachee towards his/her own goal pursuit. It is the encouraging relationship between the coach & the coachee and the unique style of communication used that brings about this powerful transition in the coachee.
