WHAT DOES PHENOMENOLOGICAL LISTENING ENTAIL?
Coachee’s experience is the starting point of the phenomenology that we practice. Neither attending to symptoms, nor labels nor with blistering pace dredging for feelings or picking any specific aspect of experience takes priority for us. We believe in unimpeded lucidity of our coachee's narrative and the initial two sessions are about getting a reasonably enriched descriptive clarification of the coachee’s lived experience.
We remain steadfast upon the coachee's presenting issues, concerns and various phenomena that presents itself in the dialogue. In the early stages of coaching we listen to the twists, turns, vicissitudes, mutations, transpositions i.e. the way our coachee unfurls his/her experience. Further, a combination of Socratic questioning, active listening and reflective paraphrasing helps us extricate our coachee’s present attitudes, beliefs, opinions, convictions, pre-suppositions, biases, prejudices, sedimented stances, malleability, stuckness, possibilities, potentialities, goals, desires and so forth all of which constitute the
roots of our coachee’s internal communication pathways

Amidst assets such as Financial, Business, Patents, Art, Property, Intellectual, Physical, Social etc., all of which are important, we at Headstride focus upon managing our biggest asset; our MIND
CLEAR & SMART GOAL SETTING
Once we delineate our client’s experience, we co-constitute clear and ‘SMART’ goal setting with the client. SMART stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic & Time-bound. The task is to lay bare what the client desires to accomplish, in what manner and in what timeframe. These are sub-componentised into end goal, journey goals and session goals and we allocate coaching sessions to navigate towards accomplishment.
NEGOTIATING THE MAZE
People generally have good imaginative ideas about their own life and nurse strong ambitions but at each instance as they prepare for take-off, they are summoned back to daily life and responsibilities which they call reality. The brilliant ideas then remain locked in a maze within the mind and over time these coalesce into mere ‘wish list’. Execution is postponed as one perceives hindrances in goal attainment.
