Disagreement, difference of opinion or divergence from existing viewpoint is customary. Such departures may invoke hostility, collision or conflict between people. Conflict is this state of disagreement and combined with fight for resources it can degenerate into rivalry, antagonism, brawl, feud and even war.
No conflict would mean that we think, decide and act in accord. Evidently this is not so. Interests vary, viewpoints diverge and opinions differ hence conflict is bound to emerge. Healthy conflict and difference of opinion is necessary for vantage point shifts in perspective however
